Still here, still waiting....

Well I'm still stuck in Ohio, can't go anywhere untill I get my check from the government. Apparently the Office of Personel management is moving and packed up all their files and sent them to the new place, so they can't get our money processed until they move, and of coarse they have no idea when that will be for sure, currently the date is 12-14-11. So I'm in limbo until then.  I had to call the landlord and ask to stay for one more month not sure how I'm going to pay the rent for December though. Last day of work was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I was hoping to get my car fixed and be on my way west by now. I will probably have to call and ask to move my start day up a couple of weeks.

Went to get my mail this morning, decided to take Gracie with me to see how she would be in the passenger seat, she made herself right at home. Stopped at McDonald's for breakfast and got Gracie a sausage patty, which she did not let out of her sight until we got home.

One step closer....

It's official the winner is Seattle, Washington. I now have a job waiting there for me on 12-12-11 so that is my future home. Now if I can just get everything done so I can get the hell out of here, I'll soon be heading west. I've been telling Gracie all about it but she doesn't seem to be as excited as me. At least, 3 days in the car will give her a chance to make up all the sleep she's lost from being on constant raccoon duty.

Smile? Well Kind of....

I decided that I needed to get some actual pictures of me on my blog, email, and Facebook, rather than just having my very photogenic kids on there. So, I got all dolled up and started snapping. First of all it turns out the only room in my house that has decent light is the bathroom, so yes to your question is she in the bathroom? Also it is very hard to take your own picture. I tried the one arm approach, in which my face and hair are all lopsided, almost as if I've had a stroke. Seriously wtf is up with my face?  I finally gave up and decided this was as good as it was going to get. Wonder if any of these will scare the raccoons away????
The two armed approach, I look a little pissed off.

Really ready to go.....

I may have to get Gracie some doggie Paxil, if we don't move soon. Not to mention a massage therapist to take care of that crook she has to have in her neck from staring at the ceiling 24 hours a day. Our upstairs neighbors, Mr and Mrs Raccoon are driving us both bonkers, and it is a short ride. Can't wait to get a whole nights sleep again.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE COMMON ATTIC RACCOON or (Procyon lotor cenaculum)

7pm. Awaken

7:01pm to 7:00 am : Perform various household tasks like making bed by rearranging attic insulation, airing out living space by attempting to make holes in floor, feeding the kids by way of going through the lady downstairs’ garbage and providing family entertainment by attempting to give the dog downstairs a nervous breakdown.

7:01am to 6:59pm : Peaceful slumber

Hurry up and wait!

Anyday now I'll know when I can leave for Oregon, any day now....., this is excrutiating. I am a lot of things but patient is not one of them. I'm getting the blog ready and hope to keep a diary of my trip and all future adventures on here and on FB. So that the few who care, can keep track of me and my kids.
So...................... back to the waiting.
